Circumcise the Second Time – Josh. Chpt. 5
Back in chapter 3, we talked about the fact that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. As far as Joshua and Israel are concerned, nothing has changed with God. The deal God made with Moses and their fathers is still in effect. For that matter, the covenant God made with Abraham, hundreds of years earlier, is still in effect. As we will see in today’s text, Israel has not kept up her end of the deal. That must change before they can move on.
You might find yourself in a place of stagnation. Your walk with the LORD hasn’t moved too far forward in the last few months. Perhaps you’ve been wandering in your own private wilderness for years now. If so, God is not the problem. He has not left or forsaken you. So ask yourself about you. Have you kept up your end of the bargain? Today’s text should help you understand what you need to do to get back on track with God.
