Before joining the ranks of the self-employed more than a decade ago, I held quite a few management positions. Despite those positions being in different industries, I learned a valuable lesson that was consistent from one job to the next: the best way to ensure my employees did their jobs with integrity was to model integrity myself.
I carried that lesson into the ministry – as a worship leader, and band leader and, eventually, a pastor. What I modeled to those around me is what they copied. In today’s text, we will see that this principle even applies to spreading the gospel. If we model faith to the lost world, some of them will follow. There are many ways to do it, one of them being practicing forgiveness. As we forgive our enemies, they see faith in us. That’s more powerful than any miracle.
