Maintain Good Works – Titus Chpt. 3
Good works. As a Christian, how do you feel about them? Good works are unnecessarily controversial in the modern Church. They tend to be polarizing, too. One the one hand are those who avoid any mention of good works under the false impression that they don’t matter. On the other hand are those who mistakenly believe that the main goal of the Christian faith is to do good works. Both extremes are wrong.
Good works are both an expectation God has of us and a practical way for us to demonstrate our faith. They are not to be feared. They are also not to be ignored. As Paul instructed Titus and the Cretin believers, good works are a necessary part of Christianity. They are part and parcel of discipleship. We have a responsibility to make them part of our daily walk with the LORD.
