There are those who believe that God gave the Old Testament law a shot and it failed. So, he then sent Jesus to make us good people so that we could get to heaven. I get it. But such thinking is still wrong. The Old Testament law could never save – that wasn’t the point anyway. Jesus has always been the way, truth, and life. There has never been any other way to the Father but through him.

Life was always the plan. So was Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. And in fact, Jesus’ entire salvation mission was settled before the world was created. It was the plan from the very beginning. Better yet, Scripture tells us that from God’s perspective, it was already a done deal when he uttered those first words: Let there be light.
