Introduction – We’ve been talking a lot about our testimony to the lost world in recent weeks. In chpts. 2+3, Peter reminded his readers to be careful about how they lived their lives because what they do, what they say, etc. influences what the lost world thinks about Jesus. His cautionary advice applies to our suffering as much as anything else.

How we handle suffering tells the lost world volumes about our relationship with the LORD. It tells them how much we truly believe what we claim to believe; how dedicated and committed we are to Jesus, and so on. The world is watching us. What are they seeing: a genuine reflection of Jesus in us, or some sort of made-up virtual reality?
