More Than Just a Deity – Psalms 45-47

One of the things that makes Judaism and Christianity so distinct from every other belief system is the idea of relationship. Our God is not some faraway, unapproachable deity that we serve in hopes of staying on his good side. Judaism and Christianity are both designed to govern the relationship between God and his people. God is so much more than just a deity. He is a personal being who desires personal fellowship and relationship with us. This truth is born out in today’s text from Ps. 45-47.

As we go through this today, it’s important for us to remember that Judaism and Christianity are not separate belief systems. They are a continuum that began with creation and will continue on through eternity. Judaism prepared the way for Jesus; Christianity reveals Jesus and invites all men and women to come to him. It’s all one faith system.
